Josh Brasted/WireImageA short video interview featuring Frank Ocean, previously unreleased, has now been unearthed.
In the clip, available to view on Vimeo after being taken down from fan Twitter account Team Frank Daily, Frank talks about his critically-acclaimed 2016 album, Blonde and the creative vision behind the studio project.
“This whole process has definitely made one thing clear. It’s like DJ-ing. Like, the mix is always falling apart,” he says. “I think making this project, I haven’t shied away from expectations, you know? I’ve really tried to use it as fuel because people have a positive association with what I do and what I make and they expect something that’s good,” he adds.
In the interview, the “White Ferrari” artist also talks about the frustrating aspects of making Blonde and even the prospect of teleportation.
Frank recently made headlines for denouncing the Grammys on Rolling Stone’s Music Now podcast, following criticism from the award show’s producer Ken Ehrlich and writer David Wild about the singer’s 2013 Grammy performance.
“Winning a TV award doesn’t christen me successful. It took me some time to learn that. I bought all my masters back last year in the prime of my career, that’s successful. Blonde sold a million plus without a label. That’s successful,” he wrote.
