Matthew Jordan SmithAretha Franklin‘s camp has officially announced the release date for the Queen of Soul’s upcoming album.
A rep confirms to ABC News Radio that Aretha Franklin Sings the Great Diva Classics will be released on October 21. Previously, a rep for Clive Davis, who produced the album, told Billboard it would debut September 30.
The first single, a cover of Adele‘s “Rolling in the Deep,” will be released digitally on Monday. Aretha will perform it on CBS’ Late Show with David Letterman Monday night.
Aretha Franklin Sings the Great Diva Classics also includes the 72-year-old legend’s take on Whitney Houston‘s “I’m Every Woman” and Barbra Streisand‘s “People,” among other hits by popular female artists.
