Image Courtesy Sonja Pacho/RetnaIndia.Arie has been tapped by a music industry group in Memphis, Tennessee to perform at “A Soulright Evening,” which will honor music legend Stevie Wonder.
The singer will be joined by Jordin Sparks, Ledisi and Sharon Jones when the event takes place on Saturday, October 11 at 8 p.m. at the city’s Cannon Center. Concertgoers also will be serenaded by Wonder, who will witness a tribute performance of his biggest hit songs.
“We are delighted to have Ledisi, India, Jordin and Sharon joining our celebration of soul music in the great city of Memphis. It will be an evening of exceptional talent honoring the legendary Stevie Wonder with songs from his illustrious career,” said soul songwriting legend David Porter, co-writer of many of Sam & Dave‘s greatest hits including “Soul Man”and founder of The Consortium MMT (Memphis Music Town), which is organizing the concert.
