Kentucky native Bryson Tiller plans to restore basketball court in hometown today

RoleXXHis sophomore album, True to Self, landed at number one this week on the Billboard 200.

Now Bryson Tiller is giving back some of his own good fortune to his hometown of Wyandotte Park in Louisville, KY today.

The “Sorry Not Sorry” artist is partnering with Nike to unveil a fully refurbished basketball court, along with hosting three hours of basketball clinics for local youth, during a celebratory engagement.

Later this evening, Bryson will perform new music from True to Self at the Mercury Ballroom in Louisville.

As for the inspirational message written along the basketball court’s sidelines — “It’s Possible Here” — Tiller says in an official statement that he remembers the first time reading those exact words in Louisville, which can always be seen by visitors flying by plane into the major city.

He adds, “I remember my first time seeing it…I was working on my debut album, and I just thought, ‘Wow, it is possible here.’ Everybody always thinks you have to move out of the city and go where the music industry is, but it’s possible in Louisville, and it’s possible anywhere. You just have to believe.”

It’s that same positive spirit that helped the 24-year-old star reach the top of the charts. Bryson is currently on his Set It Off tour.  For ticket info, go to TrapSoul.com.

True to Self is available now at all the usual digital outlets.
