However, when it came to recording their latest collaboration, “Do Not Disturb,” the singer tells ABC News Radio that it wasn’t too strange to get Brown to guest feature on her sex-drenched song.
“I think like with friends it’s always going to be weird, but when you musically vibe out, its strictly music,” she says. “It’s like we can play, we can laugh all day but when it’s time to get to work, it’s time to get to work. At the end of the day this is a job, and we’re both in the music industry, you know, so it’s completely professional and just vibing out musically.”
Teyana adds that approaching him the song was awkward at first. “Of course when you’re like, ‘Oh, I need you to get on this song,’ he’s like ‘Eww, yucky!’ And you start laughing but once the show starts all your nerves just go away and then you just get to work,” she says.
The song will appear on Teyana’a first album,VII, which is due out November 4 via G.O.O.D. Music. The set also includes contributions from Pusha T, Yo Gotti, and Fabolous.
